Many clients come to me with problems…
The most common problem I hear from people is they
aren't making the kind of money they want to make with
their Internet business. They don't know what the
problem is and they want me to help.
I'll tell you what the problem is. Most of these
people are what I like to call opportunity seekers.
These are people that have too many sites and don't
spend any time focusing on ONE business. They may have
20 or 30 websites, with each site only breaking even
or making a few hundred dollars every month.
Most opportunity seekers are not making the money they
want or achieving their financial goals. Why?
They are making a common mistake. They have too many
sites, too many interests. This prevents them from
focusing their efforts and creating the six figure
income they dream of.
Focus Is The Key To Long-Term Success
If you want to succeed on the Internet, you are much
better-off staying focused. That means starting off
with one site or idea and perfecting it before moving
on to the next Internet adventure. Far too many people
have a get rich quick mind-set. In fact, I'd say
almost all opportunity seekers have this mind-set.
They jump from one program to another hoping one of
them will lead to success.
Opportunity seekers are always the first to jump on
the next big moneymaking bandwagon. It may be one
thing one month, another the
next month.
They may try to concentrate on affiliate marketing then
switch dramatically to e-book marketing the next.
Whatever seems to be working for others they jump into
with wild abandon, without considering their true
talents, abilities and interests.
These people are looking for some easy way to make
money. They think they can make money with Google
AdSense or just a web page, or even with a multilevel
marketing program. This is NOT how an entrepreneur
thinks! However, this is exactly how an opportunist
thinks.
They always are looking for shortcuts, and then wonder
why it isn't working.
It isn't working because you have no focus. You must
have focus. You must think like an entrepreneur. Focus
is one of the most vital aspects of your success. My
advice to these newbies is shut down 29 of your sites
and focus on one site, the one that best represents
your interests.
Optimize it. Work on refining it. Refine your sales
process and your back end on this single site and make
it successful BEFORE you move on to the next site.
Yes, I have many sites. But I am Dan Lok. You're not
there yet. Perfect your one site. THEN you can think
about moving on to other moneymaking ventures.
Horizontal Vs. Vertical Business
Many people have what I call a horizontal business. A
horizontal business has many sites in many different
niches, like hobby niches.
People who own horizontal businesses have 20 or more
separate business ventures. I recommend having a
vertical business instead. A vertical business is a
business that has depth and focus.
Having a vertical business means if you have a product
in a particular niche, like stock trading, focus on
selling products related to that and that only. Put
all your eggs in one basket and create a funnel
effect. This way you'll have one group of customers
and you can become a big fish in
a small pond.
You'll have all your eggs in one place yes… but you'll
become an expert egg layer and watch all your eggs
hatch with great success.
Make sense?
What is the problem with a horizontal business? You
aren't specialized.
It's almost impossible to make a six-figure income
with this kind of business because you don't spend
enough time on any ONE business.
When you have a vertical business, you have fine-tuned
your business so well competitors have a hard time
keeping up with you. People can't compete. You also
build a strong client base with satisfied customers.
Think Like An Entrepreneur
So, the biggest problem people have is they are
opportunity seekers.
The key is thinking like a true Internet entrepreneur.
Don't jump on the trend bandwagon. Don't ask what the
shortcuts are. An entrepreneur has a long-term vision.
You have to have a one-year, five year and ten year
vision. Find out what you want your business to look
like in the long-term.
Ask yourself, What do I want to accomplish ultimately?
Then decide whether your activities fit with your
goals. Stop jumping from one program to another. Focus
on one program, one site, and one great idea. This is
what you have to do if you want to make six figures.
It has nothing to do with your knowledge, skill set
experience etc. It has to do more with your focus.
Sit down. Think about it.
Stop jumping from one program to another and stop
getting sucked into false moneymaking schemes. Find
out what your goals are, what you want to accomplish.
This is a far superior approach. Yes, it takes a lot
of energy. But its worth it. In the long-term it's
much less tiring than diversifying your business.
Once you are an expert in your industry or niche, THEN
you can think about diversifying your business.

Home Based Business or Internet Income; Earning Income While You Work At Home
Free Weekly Marketing Tips

Today's Free Bonus: The Single Greatest Marketing Secret
Do you dream that one day you will not have to get up early in the morning and fight your way through the morning commute to get to work? Are you sick and tired of fighting the traffic and wasting precious hours of your life driving to and from work? Then you should start looking into other ways of earning an income without having to deal with the daily rush hour.
If you don't want to fight traffic or waste valuable time every day that you could be spending with your family, you really need to consider a home based business or internet income as an excellent alternative. The good thing about a home based business or internet income is that you can simply stay at home, work in your pajamas, and do it all on your own terms.
When you work at home, you get to make your own rules and set your own work schedule. Working at home will give you complete control over your work time. You can go to work early in the morning or late at night, it doesn't matter. No one will ever dock your pay or mark you tardy if you don't get to a specific place or start at a certain time.
The only person you will need to answer to, when having a home based business or internet income, is yourself. However you do need to understand that if you are not self-motivated and don't possess good work ethics, you may not earn enough income to pay your bills and keep yourself living a comfortable lifestyle.
On the other hand, if you do have a fair amount of self-discipline and you don't mind working extra hours and putting in extra efforts on what you choose to do, then you could really earn a great deal of money through an online business.
Setting your own work schedules and rules
One of the many things to take into consideration when you have a home based business or internet income is to set up your work schedules and rules. You should always keep in mind that you will need to follow some set of rules to achieve maximum productivity.
Nobody's going to be there to call your attention. If you don't devote enough time and get all of your work done, you will soon find out that you may not have enough money to pay all of your bills. You will need to work diligently on your online business to insure that the work will get done when it needs to be done.
When you set up your own work schedules and rules, you need to make sure you are committed to following them faithfully. It will not do you any good, if you just set up a work schedule and rules, then simply push them to the side. If you make schedules and rules, make sure you follow everything in order that you have set. If you need to be hard on yourself, do so. Keep in mind that the rewards will probably be worth it in the long run.
To help encourage yourself to follow your own work schedules and rules, you should set a target income goal for the month. Setting a target income goal for the month will help encourage you to dedicate more time and effort to your online business, especially if you see that you're falling behind on you're income goals. On the other hand, if you have a targeted income goal for the month and you reach that goal, you can reward yourself with a day off, if you are going to meet those goals well ahead of time.

How to Start a Home Business with Online Auctions
Free Weekly Marketing Tips

Today's Free Bonus: Turn Traffic Into Cash
There are so many ways that for you to start your own home business and reap the benefits that come with it. In this article I will discuss generating some extra income by starting your own home business using online auction sites.
Did you know that there are tons of other places on the internet besides EBay where you can sell items of your choice? There are Yahoo, MSN, uBid, and Overstock auctions plus multiple online antique auction sites, in addition to another site that gets a great deal of traffic and potential buyers-Amazon.
The greatest thing about all of these places is that they require very little or no experience at all to get started, very little money and hardly any time. Additionally, and probably most important to making sales is that these sites usually already have a ton of built-in, targeted traffic. It's hard for you to make a sale if no one knows where to find the items you have for sale.
Finding products to sell isn't as hard as you think either. You can get started with some old CD's, movies, books, or clothes that you have lying around the house. This will help you get used to the whole process. Then you might start expanding your home business by cleaning out your garage, attic, or storage. If you can't find much there, take it a step further and swing by some local garage sales on the weekends.
A lot of people sell their old stuff dirt cheap just to get rid of it quickly, or they simply want new. You can also offer to clean out or rearrange other people's garages. While there, if you find anything they don't want, tell them you will dispose of it for them. If you think it's something you could sell online, all the better. Now you are earning money from the service provided and the items that they gave you, not a bad home business.
When you get your items listed on the auctions, be sure you have taken clear, detailed pictures of all items. You know how the old adage goes, "A picture is worth a thousand words." Be sure to keep in mind that a picture isn't enough when selling your items at auctions. You will want to write a good detailed description of each item that you're going to list. Make sure to tell people things like how it looks (just in case the picture doesn't load properly or they just want to read about it) how old it is, any relevant history, what the current going rate is for a new item like yours and what the measurements are.
People like to know what they're buying in advance and will most likely buy from the person who gives them the most information to better help make their purchasing decision. Make sure you have a good descriptive title, not a flashy one. Flash will not help you to be found when someone is searching for you. However good key words and descriptions will be a big help.
Do some research by looking at other similar items to yours and pay close attention to the ones that have the most bids. Then, look to see what you think made that item more attractive, and apply that knowledge to your own online auctions. With some practice and effort, you could have a booming home business in no time at all.
